INPA on board of Le Commandant Charcot
We had the opportunity to present our association aboard the vessel Le Commandant Charcot during the oceanographic Trans-Arctic cruise, which took place from Nome (Alaska) to Longyearbyen (Svalbard Islands) via the Geographic North Pole, as part of the CHARCOT Project (September 6-26, 2024; ARICE/PONANT-H2020). The presentation was followed by a screening of our docuseries, Northwards.
The CHARCOT Project is a great example on how science and business can collaborate together for the greater good. Thanks to the free access provided by PONANT to Le Commandant Charcot, a group of researchers was able to conduct their study on the ongoing changes changes of the physical, chemical, biological and biogeochemical systems of the Arctic Ocean.
We are very happy that the event was met with great interest and participation from both passengers and crew. We’d like to thank our INPA ambassador, Maurizio Azzaro (CNR-ISP) for making it possible, and to Le Commandant Charcot and PONANT for the opportunity.
